Description of Services: This program provides psychiatric assessment, consultation and follow-up. Treatment is also offered to clients who are concerned about their substance use, with or without concurrent mental health problems/concerns and problem gambling issues within the Toronto west catchment. Provides brief psychotherapy and language-specific psychosocial rehabilitation and treatment for chronic mental disorders. Primarily offers group-based, time-limited psychotherapy.
Requirements
Application: Referrals for mental health treatment must be made by physicians or nurse practitioners. Please fax the completed Centre for Mental Health referral form. Self-referrals are accepted for substance use or problem gambling concerns. Eligibility criteria: Patients whose reason for referral is related to mood disorders (anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder), OCD, PTSD or psychotic disorders (psychosis, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder). Additionally, patients with suspected personality disorders seek diagnostic recommendations and potential psychotherapy if appropriate. Patients must reside in the catchment area: Parkside Drive to the west, Yonge Street to the east, Lake Ontario to the south and Eglinton Avenue to the north.
